The winners of the SteelPRO Steel Structure Design Student Competition, which was held for the 18th time this year, have been announced. Two projects prepared by Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University Faculty of Architecture and Design and Faculty of Engineering students were awarded.

Two groups, consisting of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University Architecture and Civil Engineering students, won two of the three equivalent first prizes and the Fire Special Award in the SteelPRO Steel Structure Design Student Competition held by the Turkish Structural Steel Association since 2004.

Reyhan Arslantürk, Esma Nur Kamar and Elanur Erdağı from the Architecture Department and İnci Nur Çakar from the Civil Engineering Department won the equivalent first prize in SteelPRO 2021 with the GÖYDÜP Project, which was realized under the supervision of Architecture Department Faculty Member Semih Serkan Ustaoğlu. In addition, Buğra Arslan, Aslıhan Aydoğan and Ersan Erdoğan from the Architecture Department and Batuhan Varol from the Civil Engineering Department were awarded the equivalent first prize and the fire special award in the same competition with the ASYAP Project, which was realized under the consultancy of Architecture Department Faculty Member Semih Serkan Ustaoğlu.

The award ceremony of the competition, which was held in order for students to gain experience in steel structure design and applications and to develop creative solutions emphasizing the features of steel structure, was held online on November 25.
